- Ecaubert's partner called at Berman's to get dwgs for small ore milling machine. Told him that I made a few changes to the machine, but he didn't understand them. Explains them here to TAE. Includes small sketch. During voyage also revised the cable codes. Re dynamo: asks if he has "got rid of the 'bug'" or not. Hopes that he sent the South Amer 1/2 light macine and a countershaft and pulleys. Levi P. Morton, US Minister to France is on board. He is also Commissioner General for US at the expo. "My policy here will be to make a friend of everybody."
