Title
[D8150ZAR], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, September 27th, 1881
Editor's Notes
Sending copies of correspondence re: the Oriental Co. & Hong Kong (follow). But hope to put an end to it this way: Co. has asked for new, more specific powers of atty from you and Bell because Hong Kong is not mentioned in Bill of Sale. I will claim that therefore they have no right to claim ANYTHING more. That would take care of H-C, but still your agreement with LeGendre extends to CHina. But hope to persuade Co. not to make deductions from purchase money. So many vendors, so many scattered interests that it's hopeless to proceed until this is settled. [transcript continues]
