- STILL no settlement from Oriental Co. Proposed agreement with vendors rejected by shareholders of AngloIndian Telephone Co,, who blame Bell and TAE interests for delays and necessity of reductions to vendors; threaten court action. Disposal of 4,000 telephones also an issue; hope to resolve by formation of limited liability co. Re: Edison Tel Cos. of London and Glasgow, still deadlock between their liquidators and the United Co.; status quo. Edison/Gower/Bell of Europe making progress; got favorable Portugese concessions. Still working on forming Russian co. Last night attended Wm. Preece's lecture at Society of Arts on "Incandescent Lighting" filled with praise for Edison system. Sent you congrats cable this morning.
