Title
[D8204ZFL], Letter from Grosvenor Porter Lowrey to Thomas Alva Edison, August 9th, 1882
Editor's Notes
Lowrey writes from Cobourg, Ontario, Canada -- still 2-3 more weeks of Carlsbad course to run; hot weather in NY compared to the cool temperature in Ontario; please pay 1/6 instead of the 1/3 from your 1st payment rec'd of the Indian & Colonial business to Porter Lowrey Soren & Stone; Lowrey is taking up a project with Mr. Swinyard and Easton re: lighting Montreal; joing the general Canadian Co. "I was expecting Swinyard here today but he has not yet arrived. Canada is after all a limited and rather poor field but Eaton and I after discussing the matter when he was here for a day last week submitted a general project to Mr. Swinyard which excepted the lighting of Montreal in order that Mr. Hearle and his frineds might take that if they choose, and also stipulated that Mr. Abbott, Mr. Hearle and others who made application for Montreal should be permitted to join in the general Canadian Company to the same amount as others."
