Title
[D8226M], Letter from Sherburne Blake Eaton to Thomas Alva Edison, May 31st, 1882
Editor's Notes
Paine got order fr Worumbo company and possibly fr Bates Co. "The Worumbo is as important a one for the State of Maine as the Wamsutta order was for Naraggansett Bay." European co. tells Eaton that Batchelor will no longer take care of patents there; co. will handle itself. Doesn't want to mention in Bulletin that TAE lamp is superior b/c high resistance; says others will copy. Wants to move forward on Phila co soon and has been pressing Drexel people; they don't want to move till NYC central station online here. Says that "my presnet talk about having the Gramme Co. litigate against Swan is simply a skirmish on my part in order to draw the fire of the Brush people." Gramme Co. sent copy of article out of French L'Electricien for Oct. 1, 1881 containing article on eletric motor by Griscomb; also encloses circular issued by Electro Dynamic Co. of Phila. selling double induction motors. Brazil govt made an unfavorable report on electric light patents; seems to be agt Brazilian law to get patent if previously patented in other country.
