- Encloses copy of proposed contract w/ Moses. Wilber is trying to get new patent on your old secondary battery patent of Aug. 5, 1879. Clarke wants to begin work on 2nd District, Madison Sq. Charged Bennett $4K for installation on his yacht; cost us abt $3K; profit of $1310. Wrt Arnoux's proposal for throwing a jet of water on armature; TAE replies: "Have nothing to do with it." "Gas Engines. The Chicago people wish to know if there is any gas engine they could use in private houses to run a dynamo." TAE replies: "yes await arrival Johnson for information" "The Penn. R.R. people in Phila… are tired of buying current from the Brush Co. and wisih to put in their own dynamos for about 72 arc lights or their equivalent in our lights. We are going to put in a bid." TAE replies: "5 our lights distributed will give better satisfaction than 1 arc light" WH Moore has done "a very thorough canvass." Obtained from Sec. of State, Albany, list of all gas companies in NY State; there's 259. Osborne suggests that we give him a list of the first buildings to be lit when Pearl St. goes online.
