Stager came to see him. Batchelor is designing apparatus for lighting theater at Brunn and at Munich. At Pearl St, there is a vibration of 1/16 in. and 1/4 in. at higher rpm, b/c "pounding of the Porter engine." Clarke & Porter wkg to eliminate pounding. We have Wilber on $6K retainer; why are you using Dyer? Borden making slow progress getting up his company. "At last we hear again from Puskas & Bailey. Their letter is dated June 19th, but it is so blurred and carelessly treated, as is usual with their letters, that it is quite difficult to read it." Michels plans to form company capitalized at $10k to publish Science; wants us to take some stock. No charge for Draper's plant. Barker says Draper "understands Brush has not yet accomplished anything of real practical importance in the matter of storage batteries..If that is true, somebody has done some big lying." Stager gave him list of Chgo stockholders. TAE: "I want to have a long talk with stager if he is here after my return"
