- Seen proof of Sci Amer article on Pearl St. Says it looks good. Rcvd written complaint abt work done at Mr. Wright's house. Supt was drunk on job, but work still done carefully and "the lamps will run to perfection so far as the wiring goes. Let me state that the chandeliers in the house will be disconnected from the gas pipes and be connected exclusively with the electric system. The insurance people will not pass the job otherwise." TAE: "I understand that where gas chandeliers are used downtown the chandelier is insulated from the gas pipe to which it is connected" "Borden makes a strong protest to me in person against the rough appearance of the dynamos just sent him." Will put his statement in Defect Book. Pse get me European a/c tomorrow. Will help conclude Bailey's matters. b/c low price of gas at Balto, need to come up with concession for the Balto investors. Adirondack plant wkg fine. Howell wkg on trouble at Phila Ledger's plant. TAE: "all this class of switch ought to be withdrawn I had the same thing occur in my house--please talk to Johnson about this--I think it important & so does EHG that they be withdrawn and proper ones substituted, these are not many--& the cepense will be small. we wire in everett the other night & found one hot & EHG told Bergmann to change it at his expense." Brush London company has declared a dividend of 100%. Electric light bill before Parliament. New Brazilian patent law passed Senate; now goes to House. When passes we can start up in Brazil. Cinncinati people think "our terms are onerous." Lowrey to go to Canada this week. Spent couple hours w/ Bailey gg over his a/c. he spent $50-60K; Eaton asked for itemized memo. Wants Bailey matter wrapped up and also wants an active representative in Paris. Contract w/ Borden finalized; he's satisfied with it "and will go to work with great energy." "Orders for isolated plants are coming in so fast I almost lose track of them"
