Title
[D8239ZFP], Letter from Edward Pleydell Bouverie to Thomas Alva Edison, October 15th, 1882
Editor's Notes
Cabled you day before yesterday that I was writing to you. About controversy between Co. board and TAE. White has acted at directors' behest and with their knowledge. Explains decision to decline payment for contested items. We expected exact fulfillment of our order, not your substition for things "virtually" ordered, as explained in your 26 Sept. letter Much greater difficulties to commercializing your system here than elsewhere and we need your "hearty coopoeration" to overcome them. "It must, I trust, be clear to every one that, on the whole, we are best able, on the spot, & knowing what the difficulties are, & having the best scientific & legal advice in the country, to determine as to the method of surmounting" these difficulties. Board so prizes good relations with you that they're sending White to NY to consult personally.
