- two-page draft memorandum of organization plan for English isolated lighting Co. {useful reference for Edison's philosophy of salesmanship.} Put a good mech engineer like Orlick in charge, let it operate throughout England. Conduct business as in US, no advertising. "Make the best installations possible & see that whatever you do make continues to give satisfaction." Employ 2 or more good commercial travellers "& instruct these men minutely how to present the subject arguments to use & methods of figuring." Say nothing against competitors but explain why are prices are higher for first cost. "do all business by personal satisfaction."
