Title
[D8256ZBA], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, October 19th, 1882
Editor's Notes
Got your cable: "Will accept fifteen shillings cash for all our Oriental telephones. Edison Johnson" to which I did not reply. Many shares for sale. Re: my former proposition (stock syndicate), which prompted your cable: all but one approve, but not sure if can be carried out. "Unless we do sometthing to 'make a market' for these shares there will be no chance of realizsing them for some time to come, as they are a very speculative property." Batch offers all his shares at 10/s. Illeg Gouraud postscript about Bombay.
