"Referring to your note on letter from Ex. Gov. Hartrauft, forward to you by Dr. B. H. Detwiler, may I ask whether the correspondence should be conducted thro P. B. Shaw, of Williamsport, or that he should be protected in a commission? Be good enough to advise me what arrangements, if any, were made with Mr. Shaw, and if none were made what you would suggest, in view of your knowledge of the facts, as to work done or to be done by him. greatly obliging."
