Title
[D8332ZAU], Letter from Francis Robbins Upton to Thomas Alva Edison, May 7th, 1883
Editor's Notes
"The enclosed statement for April shows plainly the trouble we are in financially.. We need money very badly as we are having maturing liabilities coming due, and very little money coming in from sales. We are down to fighting weight, and can keep from running behind in cost of lamp on 6000 a week." [6K breakeven point on plant capacity of 15K a week suggests cost cutting to the bone]
