Editor's Notes
Letterhead of the Straight Line engine Co. # we have not received the letter in regard to the acceptance of our offer regarding the building of our engine. Have you a Draughtsman that yu can spare that can familiarize himself with an engine. WE can get one from Chicago for two weeks Mr. Sweet did not go to your --ke? On Firday in accordance with your agreement, as your private secretary said you were not to be there. It will be better for us to make one set of castings here and see the patterns are correct and to finsh the wheels, shafts and governor as we hace special tools and experience in adjusting that will save time. TAE marginalia "OK send formal order =we shall have to depend on them for drawings have no draughtman"
