Title
[D8338E], Letter from Arnold Henry White, Edison Electric Light Co Ltd to Thomas Alva Edison, January 13th, 1883
Editor's Notes
[bad image] Cabled you on 11rh: "Send Armington as shipped Canada" and rcd reply today: "Yesterday's cable not understood." We meant, don't send the C armington because we couldn't wait for it to finish an installation; send "the same Armington as that shipped by the steamship Canada." Don't have a price list so can't refer to the engine by number. Please send us such a list. Expect to receive the Post Office contract (4500 pounds yearly for 1500 lights) so it's important to replace Porter-Allen engines at Holborn with A&S. Enclosing memorandum from Fleming on this (D8338F). Let us know when to expect A&S engine for the #4 dynamo now being erected at Holborn, and whether you can fit it to existing bed plate.
