- Title
- [D8338ZAZ], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Theodore Waterhouse, July 24th, 1883
- Editor's Notes
- [Highly selectable] Yours of 7th rcd and have from Johnson full explanation of proposed amalgamation terms. Pointless now to debate whether amalgamation should be made. Discusses proposed allocation of (B) shares. After discussion with Fabbri, Lowrey, Johnson, I withdraw my opposition to your plan if modified as follows: regarding dividend on A shares; "The company shall be called the Edison Electric Light Co or at least shall be distinguished by my name in its title solely." This condition made solely on business grounds [tortured logic follows].
