- Title
- [D8369A], Letter from Sherburne Blake Eaton to Thomas Alva Edison, January 19th, 1883
- Editor's Notes
- "Regarding teh question I have asked about the basis upon which Mr. Bergmann assesses the rent of your laboratory, I note that further information is denied me. I will report to the Directors accordingly. Doubtless they will order the rent paid, but not on business principles, but because you reuested it to be done. I will accordingly [ask them to pay] although not on business principles. This tendency to deny legitimate information to us, makes me hesitate about giving an exlusive license. I think the proper policy for Bergmann to pursue is to be perfectly frank and open, and not to deny reasonable information."
