- [D8403ZDV], Letter from Henry Villard to Thomas Alva Edison, June 4th, 1884
- Editor's Notes
- [selectable] Sailing today in response to sudden summons to Europe; didn't have time to see you. Will return in early August, hope "that in the meantime some progress will be made towards a definite solution of the pending problems. I am not at all discouraged, but believe as strongly as ever in the light. But our general situation is certainly anything but satisfactory, and we must all act in a spirit of concession."
