- Title
- [D8416ADB], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to William Symes Andrews, January 9th, 1884
- Editor's Notes
- In reply to your letter which contains a sketch of a lamp you propose using for the pressure indicators. TAE states that you are removed from your foundation!!!!! (He calls it off your base but we never use slang). He says the only reason we get a current is on account of the incandescence reaches a given point we cannot detect any current even with a Thompson galvonometer. The reason lamps change is due to deposit of carbon on platina. We are going to deposit carbon in it making it which will remove inconstancy.
