[SELECTABLE; to manager of Clarendon Hotel] "Mr Edison and family propose to be absent from the City for about six weeks from Sunday or Monday next. He does not desire to give up the rooms he now occupies at your hotel, but presumes that you will make a liberal allowance to him, in as much as they will be vacant during his absence. Will you please let us have your views on the subject?"
