- Title
- [D8436ZBB], Letter from Charles Batchelor to Thomas Alva Edison, February 16th, 1884
- Editor's Notes
- [Enclosure to D8436ZBA] Confirm your cable of 10th: "Do you approve Bailey's cable to Eaton 74 words seventh and 18 words 8th"; also confirm mine of 13th "Did approve but scheme busted." Truth is, I forgot to sign Bailey's 74 word cable. Now a better combination is about to be made, about which Bailey wrote yesterday. We jointly cabled: "February first received probably new persons strong business men instead bankers.....[etc] Confirms other previous cables. "It is my firm opinion now after many quarrels that we can only use this cash payment claim to give up on consideration of getting some guarantee that the companies will make money in the future."
