[whose lousy hand is this?] 5 page memorandum. "In 1881, E told B&B that the undulating [illeg words] & that a platinua transmitter could be made that would talk as well as carbon." Seems to describe conversation with G[arrett?] about this device, in which Bergmann was involved; something about signing a statement that it was Bergmann's invention. Last page seems to start anew: "In 188_ E made suggestion B tried & gave it up--Tried again---agreed with Edison E should B the thing [some illeg] made an apparatus.…
