Title
[D8503ZCA], Letter from Samuel Insull to Thomas Alva Edison, August 12th, 1885
Editor's Notes
[Letterhead of Thomas A. Edison]. Enclose letter from King. Also enclose letter from Prof. Barker--I have wrtten him saying I would forward his letter to you with the request that you reply direct. Also enclose letter from Mr. Dixon--if you have anything to say to him let me know. The gentleman who saw you regarding one of your electric pen patents wants something a little more formal, so he can go ahead prior to your return. He discussed royalties--he asked what I thought you would think of 10% on the selling price. Please give me some kind of authority in this matter so I can "fix the thing up." Please understand that this matter is pressing. "Keep me posted as to where you go so that I can wire you again." TAE Marg: "I think 20 percent is about right as the profit is great on these goods. Tell King I want to try the insulated car roof against the other roofs in very wet weather. Tell Tomlinson I leave here Monday the 17th for Niagra, etc. Will probably be at {----} Island, Mass., Thursday next and he [----] or be at [--]. Dyer might run up with the papers about Lamp Co. and will keep you posted where I will be and you can tell him{?} he can do what he wants in the matter{?} can't he. Have Tomlinson look over the deed or search of the Florida property and see if its ok."
