Title

[D8503ZEM], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, December 18th, 1885

Editor's Notes

Hope to see you on the steamer tomorrow. I will be at the office of the Mercantile Trust Co. between 12:00 and 1:00. "I am leaving without anything definite upon several subjects we have verbally arranged." If papers are not ready in time for me to take them, please have then forwarded by the first steamer; I'll only be in England 10 days. I would like to get a "letter of circular character from you." Something like the form enclosed would be satisfactory, or you can alter it. If I can't get it before I go, please sent it by first steamer to No. 6 Walbrook, London. I would also like a photograph of yourself with your name at the bottom "in your characteristic chirography, and a few words to indicate tha tit came from you to me, as, for instance, 'to my friend, Col. Gouraud.' I wish to have it with me to show people whom I meet in my long journey what you look like." TAE Marg: "Insull-- ##I think better not give letter. ##Who do we address regarding the telephone?"
