- Editor's Notes
- [Letterhead of Hoffman House.] "Mr. M. Brady, artist of Washington, one of your earliest converts of your magic powers and who was honored with your patronage and [--------] years past in that city, is at present there in very great distress with an invalid paralyzed wife, at the very point of death." He forwarded a portrait of General McClellan for sale. His friends have formed a committee to raffle the portrait for his benefit "at this festive Christmas time."
