- [Letterhead of Armington & Sims Engine Co.] Received your telegram today that read: " 'Note presented. Telegraph quick to Importers & Traders Bank New York to recall note. Answer.' " We replied [see D8520H]. We now confirm that reply. Mr. Cranston has an account at that bank and sent his own check for $2,890.61 on the 15th inst asking them to pay your note on the 17th and send the Note to Providence. It was not here this morning, so Mr. Cranston telegraphed the Bank asking if his check had been received and they said it had been. "With the above explanation, we think that you will readily see that the Bank is at fault in the matter."
