Title
[D8533T], Letter from Electric Tube Co, Charles Berggren to Samuel Insull, August 7th, 1885
Editor's Notes
"As there is absolutely nothing to do at the office at present, and as you kindly offered me a prolongation of my vacation, I have concluded to accept an invitation to visit some friends up the Hudson, and will remain there during the first half of next week." I have my July balance ready and there is nothing lagging behind at the office (as far as work is concerned). The agent will be in on Monday, Aug. 10 for the rent, $208.33--our balance at the bank being, as you know, about $50--and our payroll check of $210--must be paid, I suppose. "Our creditors are clamoring rather loudly for money; I suppose they will be obliged to wait until we get another payment from Metrop. Tel. Co., will they not?"
