Title

[D8535X], Letter from Emil Rathenau, Deutsche Edison Gesellschaft to Compagnie Continentale Edison, May 6th, 1885

Editor's Notes

[Original letter handwritten in German; translation follows, also handwritten.] The other representatives of the Swan Co. (in spite of the judgment of the Court of Justice, which we communicated to you, in our lawsuit against Gebrueder Naglo) continue to sell Swan lamps and offer them for sale in the newspapers. We have decided to sue all the firms in question and we hope that all the lawsuits will come to a decision at the same time and before the Berlin Court of Justice. ##"Our attorney in patent matters, the lawyter Dr. Alexandre Katz, has been entrusted by us with the necessary steps, and has in consequence thereof requested the attorney at law Mr. Simson to send him over the necessary power of TAE." This gentleman, however, does not feel entitled on account of different motives to correspond to this wish without special authorization. Therefore, we request you to ask either TAE, the Electric Light Co., or the representative of the same at Paris to give the Simson the authorization to hand over the power in question.
