Title
[D8535ZAM], Letter from Louis Rau, Societe Electrique Edison to Thomas Alva Edison, June 15th, 1885
Editor's Notes
We enclose a copy of a contract we have made with the Societe du Phoenix of Gent, Belgium for working the Edison system in that country. ##We ask you to give Mr. O. Siegel here instructions to ratify that treaty in your name. ##It is urgent. ##We are sorry to see by your last letters that you will not accept the conditions proposed by our letter of May 8 for the fusion of the Paris Cos. and that you do not even make us any propositions to meet us in any way. ##If the difficulty with the Canadian patent would not exist, you would perhaps be justified in refusing all compromise, but until now, although you have promised us all information in that matter, we have received nothing. We must ask you kindly to inform Mr. D. Wallerstein how this matter stands and what you are willing to do to facilitate the fusion of the Paris Cos. Also let Wallerstein know as soon as you have given Siegel instructions to ratify the above-mentioned contract.
