- Title
- [D8545E], Letter from Mather and Platt to Thomas Alva Edison, February 9th, 1885
- Editor's Notes
- Acknowledges TAE's letter of Jan. 26 in reply to theirs of Nov. 26. Accepts conditions to pay 5 percent gross selling price on each Edison dynamo used for electic locomotion, "subject to your retaining full power to withdraw the right of your disposal of your English Electric Railroad rights." Asks TAE to consider their position at the time of a withdrawal so they might derive financial benefit. "Your high character is sufficient assurance that you will assist us if we have materially assisted you."
