- Wired you this p.m. that the line was working to Belleville; loudness is sufficient, but not as loud as morse sounders; Dwight wants to know if phone can be louder; next station below Belleville is Kingston, 55 more miles; to save time and get system in continuous use will go tonight to Prescott, which is about 225? miles from Toronto. If this is too far, will work back to Kingston. If line works to Prescott, will go to Ottawa to determine the capacity of the system as quickly as possible; send what is needed to complete the line.
