Title
[D8603ZAA], Letter from Strong (Woodbridge) and Son to John Canfield Tomlinson, February 8th, 1886
Editor's Notes
We received this evening from the clerk a statement of costs in Seyfert v. Edison and we hasten to send the enclosed statement [see Doc D8603ZAB] of amount due to date (or rather to Feb. 10, 1886: $3,209.06). ##We must decline to receive the money in sheriff's hands as part payment. That money having been advanced by or for the late Mrs. Edison can only be returned to her administrator. The appointment of an administrator and other necessary proceedings for its collection would occasion some delay and possible complications and annoyances which we do not feel called upon to assume for Mrs. Seyfert. We shall therefore be pleased to receive a check for the whole amount above, and upon its receipt will cancel the judgment and give such a release of the money in sheriff's hands as will be satisfactory to you and Schenck. ##We send Schenck a copy of the statement also, and send you the enclosed directly, in order that there may be as little dealy as possible in your receiving it. ##We hope it may not be too late for TAE's attention before leaving for the South.
