- Replying to your note of the 18th[?], I beg to inform you that I complied fully thereto, as requested to Mr. Russell. ##I made about this statement to him in re Lufkins: ##That, the party we have known as representing the Ozone[?] Machine Co. to be[?] Birray for about 8 months--during this period we have, among other things, sold him lamps of 1/2 to 16 candlepower--and during the last seven weeks, we have sold him on one or two occasions a few hundreds of the resistance lamps which came from a consignment of [-----] from the Edison Lamp co. ##We have sold a few hundred to other parties as well as to Mr. Lufkin, but have never sold any or tried to sell any to parties owning or using Edison plants.
