- Title
- [D8605C], Letter from E Louis Vogel to Thomas Alva Edison, March 12th, 1886
- Editor's Notes
- Enclosed is a clipping from the Daily News, which I wrote. I thought I would bring it under your notice. What do you think of my plan and don't you think it might prove a success if tried? Of course it applies only to a fire at night. I think it would be the best to have a separate [truck?] with Boiler and [-----] and Machinery complete and have the lights so arranged in large reflectors that the light could be thrown in any direction. Please give this matter a little consideration and let me know what you think. [Attached to bottom of letter is a Letter to the Editor concerning the need for the Chicago Fire Department to have light to fight nighttime fires, and his plan for providing that light.] [Illegible shorthand marginalia at top of letter.]
