Title
[D8634M], Letter from Merchants Store Railway Co, George E Fisher to Samuel Insull, May 5th, 1886
Editor's Notes
[Two page typed letter, sent from Detroit, Michigan to New York] Present two distinct propositions. ##1) Give you exclusive license to manufacture and opperate our carriers in NY, PA, NJ, DE, ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, and RI. Territory covers the whole East and sells for $15,000. Company would have a royalty of $1 for each machine used or manufactured during the life of the patents. OR 2) Sell you one to two hundred machines complete per month at a stated price. License you the same states and territor, charging you a normal sum for said license. Manufacturing would remain in our hands and your company would buy them outright and either sell or lease. Machines run on straight, curved and arched tracks, which allow them to be situated in any store. The cash elevator enables cash to be sent up or down a distance of 15 to 30 ft in less than one second. Machines are the most highly finished and attractive on the market. After considering the proposals we shall be glad to hear from you.
