- Editor's Notes
- Here are the results of experiment on discharge of magnet in a bridge [provides diagram; gives info on 6 experiments varying motor speed, closing current on bridge, and "braking" current on bridge]; if the drum is geared even instead of 3 to 1 it gives better curve;###Made Ries Telephone you described for R.R. Tel.; tone about half as loud as tuning fork; points don't "separate enough to make distinct brake," get half the discharge of coil (half EMF).###Making another device for better amplitude,###Made device on phonoplex to prevent operators buckling diaphragm, with lever as you suggested, used a screw, which is best and costs least.###Tate wants me to have Bergmann put this new attachment on phones; have done so unless you countermand.
