[D8637ZAC], Letter from William Symes Andrews to Dyer and Seely, October 12th, 1886

Editor's Notes

Haven't heard from you re: my last [D8637ZAC] re: patentable idea on alternating dynamos and converters; Spencer and I desire to protect with patents: 1) combination of low-volt alternating dynamo with station converter that will change low tension current to high tension for distribution; object: economy in dynamo construction, safety, economy in conductors; 2) above combination with series of converters on lines that will let down pressure step by step; object: conversion of distribution; economy of construction of lines and in weight of copper used, safety; express these ideas to proper technical experts and let us know if they're patentable; if so, apply immediately.###Also want patent on multiple converter with primary coils in sections, each connected to a dynamo.###Alternating dynamo with converter should be safer and cheaper.
