- Title
- [D8704AEC], Letter from J T Lloyd to Thomas Alva Edison, October 29th, 1887
- Editor's Notes
- Promised to finish the Vanderbilt book last winter when you were about to go to Florida for your health, but didn't get to it; sent you three or four humorous stories about the Vanderbilts last winter, and now send a half-dozen more; hope to send all 300 Vanderbilt stories before Christmas.### "I think it is about time you stopped inventing, if you wish to live to an old age."###Think the story of William H. Vanderbilt as an inventor will amuse you; All papers in the US are copying Vanderbilt in the cat story; have commenced lawsuit against some, including Boston Transcript; it has been copied from our copyrighted circular.###Vanderbilts have enjoined me from publishing the book, "but I think they will be unable to prevent it."
