- "The subject of my writing is to ask your judgment about what I found out in experimenting in electricity. I have namely composed a carbon of coal and some other substance which did produce electricity and work a telegraph instrument of 5 ohms resistance. If you think it necessary Mr. Edison, I will send you a carbon I made, so as you can experiment with it yourself. For my part I have not the means or the time to make any further investigations. As you have all the necessary facilities for experimenting you will quickly find out if this carbon has any value or not. ## Hoping you will please answer my" Marginalia by TAE: "Write & say Electrical Briquets have been tried in France --"
