- "I have your kind favor of the 26th in reply to mine and thank you for your courtesy in replying. ## I had been informed by a chemist that the methods mentioned was both practicable and cheap. ## If there is a cheap method of producing pure oxygen gas by means of the use of electricity that you can impart to me, I shall be glad to know it. I trust I am not asking an improper question in making such a request. If my inquiry is of sucha nature, please consider it withdrawn, otherwise I shall be happy to hear from you & enclose stamp for reply" Marginalia (in TAE's hand?): "noway"
