- "Referring to your favor of the 11th, we expect to test the municipal machine for Florida early next week. If the test turns out all right, it should be ready for shipment towards the middle of the week." Marginalia: on reverse of typed letter is a hand-written note from Alred O. Tate to Frank W. Toppan: "Can you give me any further information re the 'Pendleton'?" Marginalia: also on reverse of letter is a note in response from Toppan to Tate: "The 'Pendleton' will sail late tomorrow Feb 15th. Will receive freight up to time of sailing."
