Title

[D8736ACV], Letter from Samuel Insull to John F Randolph, July 11th, 1887

Editor's Notes

"There is some error or oversight at 65th Fifth Avenue; We should have received from them, considerably over $5000.00 to-day. They owe us up to the 1st. Inst. $4357.42 after deducting the notes which Drexel & Co. discounted when I was last in New York and which notes amounted to $6749.14. I have written Mr. Chinnock in reltion to it to-day. See if you cannot obtain another note to-morrow for about $2100.00, so as to make up the balance of the $5000.00 that I want; also obtain note for any further balance that they may be willing to give you. See Mr. Hastings and see if you cannot get some cash from him; I offered him 2-1/2% discount if he would let us have some cash instead of notes. He owes us about $10,000 I think. Also see Sprague and see if you can get some cash there; he owes us $7000 or $8000. Wire me to-morrow what you are able to do. When you are over at Bergmann's, ask for [---] [---] our account according to the balance [-]ust them; the account is slightly over $1400. Gigel, the book keeper, has the account."
