Title
[D8736ADI], Letter from Samuel Insull to John F Randolph, August 12th, 1887
Editor's Notes
"Referring to our telegrams elsewhere confirmed, you seem to have made a mistake with relation to our telegram of this morning. We meant you to understand that if you could not get a Cheque from Chapman, that we should like you to ask Mr. Hastings to loan us $2,000.00 until to-morrow; if you get the Cheque from Chapman, our Bank account would be in very good shape. Please go over to Mr. Hastings and simply say to him, that you misunderstood our telegram; that we were not hard up at the moment, but were simply afraid that we might be. Do this, because I do not want Mr. Hastings to think that I am continually on the 'ragged edge.'"
