- Enclosed with D8736ADM. "Do you know Alexander Lang? He is with the Rome Locomotive Works and applies to us for a position as draughtsman. He states that he was under a Mr. Street in Virginia, who is now dead, but refers us to Mr. Blackwell, now of the Union Pacific Railroad, who, if I mistake not, is the gentleman under whom you were working in Virginia; it is this that suggests the idea to me of writing to ask you whether you know anything about Mr. Lang."
