- Editor's Notes
- "The Wm. Strange plant was put in, I think, in 1881 or 1882. It was at the time when we were using the 8 c.p. lamps and were under the illusion that this lamp would give as much light as the ordinary gas burner. I think Mr. Moore was Manager of the Isolated Company at that time. The Gas Company, as soon as we started our plant, put in burners which gave about 20 c.p. illumination and made the 8 c.p. lamp look very weak. Mr. Strange discontinued the use of the Edison light and this Company were endeavoring to fix up a compromise with him for a long tim but failed and the plant was taken out about three years ago. I hardly think the facts of this case could have as much influence in Paterson as Schroeder seems to think."
