Title
[D8738AAR], Letter from Charles Edward Chinnock to Thomas Alva Edison, December 21st, 1887
Editor's Notes
"Here is a list of the salaries and expenses in connection with our travelling agents:-- ## [list of travelling agents and their salaries and expenses] ## In regard to the 7 1/2% will say that this was originally intended to make good loses but subsequently the matter was talked over and changed, and it is to be used on account of payments on capital stock. At the last meeting of the Executive Committee it was definitely settled sonthat the 7 1/2% is practically eliminated and cannot be considered as additional profits in connection with the business. ## Mr. Johnson has forwarded me your remarks in connection with the transformer on arc light circuits. What do you think of the idea of making a drive for that kind of business, that is, advertising it in the technical papers? ## The amount this Company nets from the plant sold by Mr. Moseman, the agent that succeeded in closing a contract after being in our employ three days, is $150. Of course that would pay his salary and expenses for one month."
