- Typed: "I would suggest that a mark be fixed upon the phonographs,-- that those manufactured for America be marked 'Not licensed for use out of the U. S. & Canada,' and that mine be marked 'Not licenses for use in the U. S. and Canada.' It might be well to number the phonographs, and send me uniformly either the odd or the even numbers." Handwritten: "Cant you make a Phono on a plan that will make it adaptable to a[-----]ing purposes for shop [--------] [--] calling out any [-]eg[----] series of commencement worked by [--] m[-]t[-]r [---]p[--]y as [----] again in [---]is l[---] example for [-------] [--] to hear by and if f[-----] a[-----] -- [----] [-----]? Big thing if you can -- [--] [---] [--] [----] [---]! -- [--]!" Cable written perpendicularly across the handwritten part of the letter: "London Noside Don’t write calbe gower company or except through trouble brewing fully cable German telephone offer shares grand Hotel"
