- [Letterhead: New Have Clock Co.] "We do not on the dial of our Watchman's Clock, indicate from what station the watchman sends the signal, but we have registers in itself every time it is visited, and would register the same whether the clock is working or not. In this way we get a double check from the watchman; that is, the clock dial and the register of the boxes must tally the number of punctures. These boxes are so arranged some time so that they must be visited in sequence, or not, as people prefer."
