Title
[D8803AAA], Letter from W T Watson to Thomas Alva Edison, January 5th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I have just bought an Electric Pen-Battery smaled cannot use it. On the glass jar reads 'Edison Electrical Pen + [unclear] Pens' I want to get some zincs. Carbons + Half sound [unclear]. Where can I sell them and prices. What material is used in such a Battery-do you keep them-I got pen to sure but too fast not enough power. I want to [unclear] from 4 to 6 [unclear] of paper at one time for perforated patterns for stamping. Probably the battery made for it will make it work but so far it is not a success. I tried 2 cups all and Battery but worked to slow. I tried 4 cups that was better but very weak. I tried 6 cups it then was too fast but not enough power. Is there a book published with the pen giving directions how to work it. What is best material to lay my paper on to perforate. How can I make the Pens go slower with more power. It goes so fast that I cannot trace fast enough it cuts the paper. If you cannot give this information. Kindly direct me where I can give it and oblige." W.T. Watson
