Title

[D8805AAI2], Letter from Robert Henry Thurston, Sibley College (Cornell University) to Thomas Alva Edison, January 20th, 1888

Editor's Notes

"Yours of the 18th is received. Thanks for your kind invitation to Mrs. Thurston and self from Mrs. Edison and yourself. We hope to be able after a time to spend a little time in Summit, among old friends, and shall be glad of the opportunity to then see you and your wife, and your work. I am particularly anxious to see what from your establishment is taking; it will probably help me very much in looking ahead to further growth and improvement here. ### Our boys go on annual "Inspection Tour, about Easter, and if perfectly convenient and agreeable to you, I should much like to have them spend an hour with you in your laboratory. You would find them very intelligent and appreciative fellows, and all intensely interested in electrical matters, and especially in [unclear handwritten addition] that you are interested in." ### Please do not hesitate to tell me, however, if it would be in the slightest degree inconvenient or annoying to you to admit them." Very sincerely yours, R.H. Thurston [TAE marg: "Say all right Happy to see them"]
